Life, Fragmented - Final Stop-motion Project

Hello to my far and few readers,
This post is the animation project I did for my photography final.  I was my first try at this kind of media, and I am planning on dabbling with it more in the future.  I loved the shooting and editing processes for this piece.
Enjoy,
Scarlet

A quick stop motion from last shoot!

Here is my first try at a short animation!

Stop-Motion Photography

I am currently creating concepts for a couple of animation projects!  Here are some others that have been inspiring me! what i love about these videos, is that they range from ultra casual and kind of mundane as far as the action that happens in them to uber creative and complex. my favorite one is Lost Things. Enjoy!

Recent Portrait Photography

This fall, I have been taking a digital photography class, mostly to get assignments that encourage me to keep up with taking pictures.  The class itself, has not been incredibly challenging, however, I always manage to make my own challenges.  These photos were taken for a portrait assignment.  Although, Rachel, my model, wouldn't normally strip down in public places and wear lingerie and sheer materials, she exudes tremendous body confidence and self love.  These photos are an expression of that and also showcase her body art!

Recent Favorite Photographs!

This specific blog post is about light and community.  The few groupings of photos here use natural and artificial light.  The still of my friend Jessica and her mom was taken on a bus in Los Angeles, and is intended to show the glow of a new mother, but in this case, a mother who has kept the glow alive.
The next few shots are from a photo shoot done with my friend Rachel that was inspired by abusive relationships. (I was brought to the studio to help with lighting and test shots/ the theme was not my idea)

The following photographs are from the same shoot with Rachel, but the model in white, is supposed to represent the more "saved" character. (the religious theme really jolted me, in that i had never worked with photographing a scenario before)
These next two shots are from a parade that kicked off the 2010 True False Film Festival.  Columbia, Mo, is an incredible town with awesome community!

That's all for now!

Working On An Angry Song...It's About Time...

I haven't finished yet by any means but here are some of the lyrics...just a few one liners...

It's five card draw and I got all the hearts in my hand, it's a royal flush, no man's land.

I'll put my money on metaphor, when you said we are fighting a nuclear war.  because you're over reacting, and i've already walked out the door.

You said what you did with her was just stupid stuff, but really, you are a tool and i'm callin' your bluff.

Keeping you around is makin' me loose sanity, and all I wanna do is kick ya to the curb, cause you're not worth it to me.

When liquid courage becomes your demise, all i see is my disappointment  mirrored in your crazy eyes.

Banana popsicles and numb lips take me back to frozen nights and tantric kiss, but you fucked up and that's the jist.

Stephens College Student Ambassadors

This year i have been lucky and honored to serve as the president of the student ambassadors.  this year is a year of many firsts, one being, global and community outreach.  until friday october 30th, we are taking orders for TOMS SHOES and hosting a STYLE YOUR SOLE event on november 15th on campus.  for all of you in the area, this is a great opportunity to buy a pair of shoes for yourself with another pair being donated to a child in need.  ONE FOR ONE and hopefully one day ONE FOR ALL...

PS.  These shoes are soooo comfy and saved my feet in Prague walking on all the ancient cobblestone streets and are easy to clean and go with everything!!!

The Windy City and Finding A Future

This past weekend my friends and i took a drive to Chicago.  This was my first visit since i was an infant and I had a life changing visit for the whole 11 hours I walked around the city in the rain and wind with my comrades.  Up until recently, the plan has always been get back to the coast as soon as possible, but i always assumed this "coast" would be SoCal, not the coast of one of the great lakes.  I found that there is a Waldorf Teacher Training program in the city and a school in which i could teach while completing my training, not to mention that the entire city is flatter than San Francisco, has better public transportation than LA, and is friendlier than NY.  My feet were sore but my soul (sole) was healed and is eagerly ready to be planning this big adventure in the next two years.
